Day 1 Lamant Cruise: HO CHI MINH CITY / MY THO / BEN TRE / CAI BE (D)

Morning market in Cai Rang, Can Tho

Meeting point is at 10H30 at the lobby of the Caravelle Hotel. Then, drive through to My Tho - the gateway to the Mekong Delta. On arrival, embark on board L'AMANT and enjoy a lunch and get acquainted with the crew.
After lunch, board a river-boat to explore the hidden treasures of the Xep canal and islands with tropical fruit gardens. An exciting ride on a carriage drawn by small horses awaits you for a stroll through the fascinating farming villages. Enjoy the tasty fruits and tea with natural honey.
Then continue your journey on a sampan boat through small canals.
Welcome dinner and overnight on board of L'AMANT. 

Day 2 Lamant Cruise: CAI BE / VINH LONG / SA DEC (B/L/D) 

After breakfast, board a local sampan boat and sail through the canals to explore Cai Be's vibrant floating market, visit a charming ancient colonial house and handicraft workshop. Return on board of L'Amant for lunch. In the early afternoon, take a small boat for a journey towards An Binh islands, continue the tour by bicycle to visit Tien Chau ancient pagoda, some tropical fruit orchard gardens and witness the everyday life of the Mekong Delta. Continue to visit a traditional house and enjoy some mouth-watering tropical fruits. Anchorage near Sa Dec. Dinner and overnight on board.

Day 3 Lamant Cruise: SA DEC / NEAR  CHAU DOC (B/L/D)

After breakfast, tour Sa Dec, the town where the French Writer, Marguerite Duras spent her childhood. Famous for its flowers and bonsai plants, stop at the ancient house of Huynh Thuy Le, the "house of the Chinese" described in Marguerite Duras'novel, L'Amant. Pass-by the school where Margerite's mother has taught and be charmed by the pleasant greetings of the school children. Return on board of L'AMANT for lunch. Sail to Chau Doc. During the afternoon you can enjoy a cooking class or just relax on the sun deck. Anchorage on the way to Chau Doc. Dinner and overnight on board.

Day 4 Lamant Cruise: CHAU DOC (B/L/D)

In the morning, you will reach the city of Chau Doc, the border city with Cambodia. Visit a floating fishing farm where thousands of fishes are breed for export and visit a mosque in a Cham village. In the afternoon, visit Sam Mountain, a popular pilgrimage site where you will find a large number of Chinese, Cham and Khmer temples. Farewell dinner and overnight on board. 

Day 5 Lamant Cruise: CHAU DOC – PHNOM PENH (B)

After breakfast, disembark and depart to the Cambodian border by speed boat, go through the customs formalities and continue your cruise to Phnom Penh arriving by early afternoon.

Early morning (07h00), embark on a local sampan boat and sail through small arroyos to explore the vibrant Cai Be's floating market. Return on board L'AMANT for breakfast. Disembark at around 09h30 and head back to Ho Chi Minh City by coach. Arrive at Caravelle Hotel at around 12h00.

MEKONG DELTA CRUISE VACATION

Our 1 Day private cruise excursion starts from Cai Be, departing from our own pier in Phu An hamlet at around 10.00 am.
Upon embarkation on Cai Be Princess boat, clients are welcomed with fresh cotton towels.

The tour will start with the visit of Cai Be colorful floating market, cruising among local sampans coming from all provinces of the delta full of fruits and vegetables.  Your sampan will proceed to Dong Hoa Hiep island located between Vinh Long and Cai Be. During a 40 minutes cruise, you will be able to discover beautiful landscapes along the river and observe the typical Mekong delta rural life. These evergreen islands among the Mekong River still remain unknown to many people.
Visit at an ancient mandarin house dating from the 19th century where the family will welcome you with a cup a tea.

Back on board, we will lead to you to observe the activity of the biggest rice stock market. Further, others stops will allow you to see a traditional bricks and tiles factory and how locals are using palm leaves for houses. Cruising 20 minutes further to Phu An hamlet passing by Cai Be beautiful church, we will have a visit at some interesting home factories to see how rice paste is made, but also rice cookies, coco candies, as well as longan fruits drying process. Lunch will await you at Le Longanier, a superb Indochinese villa located in a lush tropical garden by the river, surrounded by fruit orchards.

Our 1 Day private cruise excursion starts from Vinh Long departing from pier in front of Cuu Long hotel at around 10.30am the latest.
Upon embarkation, clients are welcomed with fresh cotton towels.
The cruise starts crossing the wide Co Chien River, one the largest arm of the Mekong River. We will enter Dong Phu canal, passing along An Binh and Binh Hoa Phuc islands famous for their fruits orchards plantations. Our first stop will be made at Tam Ho bonsais garden.
We will proceed the cruise on a very narrow canal to have a closer observation of the beautiful landscapes and luxuriant vegetation. These evergreen islands among the Mekong River bring about large networks of meandering rivers, criss-crossed with countless arroyos, and remaining unknown to many people.
We will reach Cai Be, cruising through the colorful floating market among local boats carrying all kind of fruits and vegetables.

2 - DAY MEKONG DELTA WITH SONG XANH SAMPAN CRUISE

DAY 1: MEKONG DELTA  WITH SONG XANH SAMPAN CRUISE: CAN THO – SA DEC

The excursion starts from Can tho (Ninh Kieu pier) at 7.00 am. Upon embarkation on your sampan-hotel, you will be welcomed with fresh cotton towels.
After your installation, the cruise will lead you to Cai Rang to see one of the largest floating market of Vietnam. Your sampan will reach Cai Rang 40 minutes later, and will cruise slowly among hundreds of small embarkations full of fruits, vegetables and other local goods. Occasion will be given for you to get on one of these small boats if you wish so. Your sampan will then leave Can tho waters and cruise for almost an hour, upstream on the large Mekong river. On the way we will pass by several luxuriant islands, crossing countless sampan boats carrying sand, rice, fruits and vegetables, fishes, showing an intense activity on the river. We will then leave the Mekong and proceed the cruise on a beautiful small canal. A stop will be arranged at a superb ancient  “mandarin” house dating from 1890. Right after the visit, you lunch will be arranged at this house, prepared by the family owners.
In the afternoon, we will proceed to Sa Dec cruising along a narrow canal, passing under several “monkey bridges”. A stop on the banks will be possible for a cycling tour to discover deeper the inhabitants life style. Sa Dec town will appear like a little “Venice” with numerous narrow canals…  You will disembark at the market place for a guided visit of this charming and peaceful town, walking along its narrow streets where beautiful French old houses, Chinese temples and Vietnamese Dinh are dating from the last century… Visit at beautiful ancient house or “Nha Co” dating from the early 19^th century, former residence Mr. Huynh Thuy Le, “lover” of famous Marguerite Duras writer (see her popular novel turned into a movie “The Lover”). An unforgettable experience in a unique atmosphere…
Back on board your private sampan for your dinner and your first night on the river.

DAY 2: MEKONG DELTA  WITH SONG XANH SAMPAN CRUISE: SA DEC – VINH LONG – CAI BE (PHU AN)

The breakfast will be served on board at 07am. Today, your sampan will proceed the cruise to Cai Be via Vinh Long. On the banks, some dark smokes in the sky will lead us to one of the largest artisanal bricks and tiles factory where you will have an interesting visit. We will then cruise on a small beautiful arroyo, through water jacinth plantations…You will take a small rowing boat for a short cruise along a narrow canal, passing by a local tiny village and fruit plantations. We will then proceed the Tien river, one of the two large arms of the Mekong. These evergreen islands among the Mekong River bring about large networks of meandering rivers, criss-crossed with countless arroyos and remaining unknown to many people. After passing Vinh Long waters, we will cruise around Dong Hoa Hiep island, famous for its fruit orchards. On the banks, some traditional activities can be observed such wooden boat factories, palm leaves panels weaving used for home roofs and walls, …We will then cruise to Cai Be famous floating market which takes place daily in front of a beautiful ancient catholic church dating from 1880. Further, a stop on the banks at some local home factories will allow you to observe how rice paste, coconut candies and other specialties are traditionally made. We will then proceed to Phu An hamlet, an untouched beautiful area reflecting some of the best sights the Mekong Delta can offer.
A delicious lunch will await you at "Le Longanier", a superb Indochinese villa located by the river, in a lush tropical garden surrounded by fruit plantations. After a short walk along a beautiful narrow canal, your own transportation will be waiting for you,ready to transfer you to your next destination.

We will proceed to Phu An, an untouched remote area reflecting some of the best sights the Mekong Delta can offer. On the way, an optional stop can be made at local home factories where you can see how rice paste and rice popcorn are made. A delicious lunch will be served at Le Longanier, a superb Indochinese villa located in a lush tropicalplantation, by the river.

Along the river, local houses are still traditionally made of wood and palm tree leaves. On the river banks, you will observe some very large rice fields while cruising between numerous suspended fishing nets, an ancestral way of fishing in the Mekong Delta.
The cruise will end at around 3pm at Phu Nhuan Bridge near Cai Lay.
